The Holy Art meets Can Bulgu
Can Bulgu is an East London-based artist. After graduating the Faculty of Architecture at TU Darmstadt, Germany and working several years as an architect, he opened his first and only exhibition in Santiago de Compostela, Spain in 2010 documenting the St.James Way pilgrimage. When the Syrian War started in 2011 he decided to walk the Syrian border of Turkey for several months, settled in Mardin, co/curated the 3rd Biennale of Mardin (https://mardinbienali.org/arsiv/3th-m...) where he worked with local artisans and also assisted renowned artists such as Mike Nelson, Thierry Payet and Romain Kronenberg, lectured at the Faculty of Mardin, and worked as a humanitarian for NGOs on youth projects for the next six years to come. Moving to London in 2018, he worked as a kitchen porter, chef and recently again as an architect, while continuing his journey as an artist.
